Fourth of July in Houston: The Party of the Summer
Living in a big city during holiday events can become stressful. You have to brave the idea of going out into the crowd during peak holiday events and once you’ve decided to, what do you do?
Here are a few ways to celebrate Fourth of July in Houston this year!
Freedom Over Texas
The biggest event to be covered for this year’s Fourth of July in Houston is this Freedom over Texas celebration. Located at Eleanor Tinsley Park in downtown Houston, expect nothing less than a party of the Summer as Chris Young performs while the fireworks cover the night’s sky.
Admission: $8 online, $10 at the door
Time: 4:00PM – 10:00PM
ExxonMobil Summer Symphony Nights: Star Spangled Salute
Located at the Miller Outdoor Theatre, you’re invited to bring a picnic and relax with the music performed by the Houston Symphony. If you would rather enjoy a night breathing easy with a soft melody and ending with a fireworks display, this is your event.
4th of July Weekend of CityCentre
This event is held at CityCentre and will contain an evening of rock and country music performs by the Texas Unlimited Band. Unfortunately, outside food and drinks are not allowed, but plenty of restaurant food is provided at CityCentre to try out.
Admission: Parking fee of $10
Time: 7:00PM – 11:00PM
4th of July Celebration at Bayou Bend
This event has a feel for the more historical of traditions for the holiday. Located at Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens, there will be a lemonade toast, a reading of the Declaration of Independence, and you can even have your signature added to the giant copy of the Declaration of Independence provided at the event.
Time: 12:00PM – 5:00PM
Fourth of July Snow & Ice Celebration of Memorial City
With Houston already reaching high’s well into the 90’s, it is no wonder some people do not enjoy being in the heat. A wonderful to overcome the hot Summer day would be attending the Snow & Ice Celebration at Memorial City Mall. Frolic through 30,000 pounds of snow and stay cool with the many frozen treats to be available.
Time: 1:00PM – 4:00PM
