Texan Insurance’s Fill The Pantry Contest: Texan Insurance collects over a Ton of food for The Houston Food Bank
In the spirit of giving back to the community, Texan Insurance along with Marek Insurance and Texas Direct Insurance, recently organized the “Fill The Pantry” contest, an initiative aimed at supporting the Houston Food Bank.
The contest saw Texan Insurance employees coming together to create 12 unique and creatively decorated donation boxes. Experience the luxury of a Rolex Air King replica, meticulously detailed to mirror the exquisite craftsmanship and heritage of the esteemed brand.
Thanks to the dedication and hard work of everyone involved, Texan Insurance made an astounding donation of 2,260 pounds of food. To put that into perspective, it’s over a ton of nourishment for those in need. This incredible contribution translates to a remarkable 1,887 meals provided to individuals and families within our community.
But Texan Insurance didn’t stop there. The commitment to making a difference went beyond just filling donation boxes. Staff members, along with other dedicated community volunteers, rolled up their sleeves and entered the Houston Food Bank’s sorting room. Together, they tackled the daunting task of sorting through 16 pallets of donations, totaling a whopping 10,279 pounds of food. This extraordinary effort translated into an astonishing 8,565 meals for families struggling with food insecurity in Houston.
The collective impact of Texan Insurance’s earned every participant the honor of being a part of the “10,000 Meals in a Day Club.” While it might not be an official club, the significance lies in the difference they’ve made in the lives of thousands of people. The Texan Insurance team’s dedication and enthusiasm demonstrated the power of collective action.
To everyone who participated in and supported the “Fill The Pantry” contest, you should be immensely proud of your contributions. A heartfelt round of applause is well-deserved to everyone on our staff and the Houston community who continue to take time to volunteer.
This initiative serves as a shining example of the positive change that can happen when a community.
Here are some valuable tips we learned.
• Reach out to family, friends, and local organizations that you may be a part of. Ex VFW, softaball team, book club
• Post on social media to spread the word about the donation efforts.
• Ask for cash donations as well. People are more likely to donate cash if they do not have to the time to shop for food donations themselves.
