As we reflect on the incredible challenges of 2020, we’d like to highlight our partnership with the Houston Food Bank. From March through November, the Houston Food Bank distributed over 195 million pounds of food and product. That’s almost double the amount from the same time in 2019.
In total, from July through November in 2020 the Houston Food Bank was able to:
- Pack over 100,000 food sacks for our Backpack Buddy program.
- Complete over 800,000 home deliveries of nutritious food to neighbors in need.
- Prepare over 1 million ready-to-eat meals through Keegan’s Kitchen.
Texan Insurance not only donated our time to help feed Houston families in need but, also thousands of dollars and meals thanks to our customer referral program. For every referral our customers submit, they receive a $10 gift card and the Houston Food Bank receives a $10 donation.
With the 217 referrals our customers sent us, Texan Insurance was able to donate $2,170 to Houston Food Bank in 2020. It also provided 6,510 meals for families in need.
This year we are looking to surpass that number by receiving 333 referrals and donating $3,330 to the Houston Food Bank. But, we need your help! Go to our referral page to help yourself and help others!
